‘A Thought, A Mind’, the second track from Farewell J.R, is as haunting as it is uplifting. Farewell J.R, although based in Cambridge, enlisted friends from around the globe for the track, with parts recorded in Ireland and Australia. The emotive tone of the vocals from the beginning of ’A Thought, A Mind’ obscures the final destination of the song from the listener, which gradually builds into an uplifting crescendo of organ and strings. Stream ’A Thought, A Mind’ above and grab the free download below, and also head to Farewell J.R’s Soundcloud to catch the killer ‘Mannequin Teeth’.

Can’t get enough of this dark alley rap from Haleek Maul. He’s only 15, but has already hooked up with some big in the game producers (The-Drum, Supreme Cuts) for his debut EP. Be sure to catch this recent interview with Fader, where among other things he talks about how he dropped a freestyle down the phone to Supreme Cuts who thought he sounded like a grime rapper. Oxyconteen is out June 18th on Merok. Grab the download via Soundcloud below. The guys gonna be a superstar.

Waskerley Way graces these pages once again with the best copy & paste song title yet, ‘ṩ_r__ȿ ☣decay’. We have no idea either…but the song is sounding great, catch a mix the Newcastle man made us right here and have the download of the new song below.

Tours has taken some time out from his busy producing schedule to release a brand new single called ‘Grand Lux’, via the Collective Label Young Latitudes. A couple of weeks back, we featured Fleeta and some tracks from his debut LP Zoo, in which Tours was an executive producer, and now we are pleased to bring you Dylan Sieh’s own release that sees him go back to the more sun-kissed dream pop that is associated with his Tours moniker. Stream ‘Grand Lux’ above and grab the free download below.

New Yorker A S A H I has remixed Memoryhouse’s ‘Lately’ to stunning effect, bringing to the forefront the gorgeous ethereal piano work from the original and using high pitched vocals that fit so well with the aesthetic of the remix, all building to a dreamlike crescendo. Oh, and May the fourth be with you.

A gorgeous electronic pop gem from Stockholm’s Ditt Inre, with ‘Månljus (saknad)’, which means something in Swedish, probably. The track is taken from Ditt Inre’s En Värld I Brand EP, out on May 29th via Cascine. Ditt Inre certainly epitomises the “Balearic disco” scene of Scandinavian electro, yet the textured, organic and visceral surroundings you find yourself immersed in elevates Ditt Inre’s sound head and shoulders above a simple genre grouping. Albert Swarm floods back into the forefront of our minds with this new (old) track, beautifully named ‘The Sea That Calls All Things Unto Her’. Grab the mystical track for free and keep your eye on all things Ceremony for an upcoming release just around the corner.
Spectral Park is back with another perfectly constructed garage pop jam, the first since he unleashed himself to the world with the still great, Factory Peeled EP. ‘Pale Glistens’ is the calm before the storm of his debut album dropping sometime whenever this year. Newcastle guy Michael Phillip Bridgewater aka Waskerley Way has released a new album for free over at his Bandcamp. Take a listen to our favorite cut from the collection, the opus ‘Bishop’s Awkward / Screw Attack / Walking Home, In A Blizzard’. Six minutes split into deep house beats and an acoustic serenade. Some of WW’s most enjoyable work to date. Download Haunted Tors via the link below to make your life better.

Double Denim just let loose a new Outfit track along with the announcement of their EP, Another Night’s Dreams Reach Earth Again. ‘Drakes’ is another laid back funk track covered in atmosphere which is instantly recognisable as Outfit, and the fact it’s from Liverpool makes it a ten times better. 100 free download are available from DD’s Soundcloud, get on it.

Sublime intricate electronic work from Manchester based Bodhi Glitch. Glitch is definitely the word, but the soothing vocals and precision of the track make it flow effortlessly. Grab the mp3 from the link below and check his Soundcloud for a sweet remix of Schlomo’s ‘Parties’. [photo]

Bam Spacey’s single ‘Vi Delar Samma Grav’, along with the accompanying B-sides, is shaping up to be our favourite release of the year so far. To call ‘B1 Ström’ and ‘B2 Ström (Saturday Mix)’ “B-sides” seems somewhat unfair, as they hold their own and could easily be singles in themselves. ’B1 Ström’ is beautifully textured with deep bass-y, yet uptempo, beats reminiscent of Nicolas Jaar, and is given direction by the saultry vocodered vocals that we have come to expect from Bam Spacey. ’B2 Ström (Saturday Mix)’ is a clever edit of ’B1 Ström’ and pretty much ready for any dance floor. You can grab B1 Ström as a free download below, and the single ’Vi Delar Samma Grav’ (which you can listen to here), along with 3 B-sides, is out now via the Brooklyn based Ceremony Recordings.
