NT favourites Jewellers finally released the follow up to last years Sleep Education today; an eleven track ambient electronic extravaganza titled Lakeswimmer. Last month we featured ‘Sing Trees’ and ‘Easier Together’, both taken from Lakeswimmer, and now you can stream another one of our picks, ‘ThirtySix’, above. We have just learned that NT favourites Jewellers are back with a brand new album. Details yet to be confirmed but you can stream the first listen from the duo’s sophomore LP, titled ‘Sing Trees’, above. Updates to follow.
Jewellers have remixed Brooklyn-based rockers My Best Friend, who recently put pen to paper and signed on the dotted line with Warp. Check out their remix of ‘Cracking Eggs’ above. [photo]
Jewellers and Patterns have had a go at remixing one track from each other’s discography. The results are in and they are wonderful. Jewellers have remixed Patterns’ ‘Throwing Stones’, taken from the ‘Induction’ 7” released earlier this month, and Patterns have remixed Jewellers’ ‘Forward Life’ from their ‘Sleep Education’ LP. Both tracks still carry close relationships with their previous guises, yet each has moulded and worked them with their own professional hands to create something fresh and exciting. NT favourite Jewellers have given us an exclusive download of the penultimate track from their ‘Sleep Education’ LP, titled ‘Shape Up’. ‘Shape Up’ builds beautifully with chimes and bells held together with a glitchy beat and beautiful female vocal, which all transcends into synth samples and crashing symbols. Jewellers have also just released a stunning three track EP available as a free download when you purchase ‘Sleep Education’, which you can do from The Sounds Of Sweet Nothing and also on iTunes. Video for Jewellers dope track ‘Tape’ directed by Jack Offord. Basically a guy leads a trail of unwinding cassette tape everywhere he goes. Maybe he just didn’t notice or something? Still has his headphones on though so I don’t know what he’s listening too.
