We have fallen for this new one by Sweden’s Bam Spacey. ‘Taigan’ is taken from his forthcoming Land EP, out May 22nd with Ceremony. Soak up the rabbit rubbing, milk glass glugging, visuals above.
Delightful dream pop track coming from the latest release on Purr Tapes, Shaky Snakes with ‘Post-Supernova Blues’. Shaky Snakes is Canadian guy Ian Johnston, this is the first track of his we’ve been introduced to, and we are now very much looking forward to being swept away by more chilled out jams. Smooth easy listening on this demo from London singer-songwriter Fabiana Palladino. So many great female artists coming from London in recent times, this track certainly proves Fabiana to be yet another in the making. We’ve been digging Way’s new works ‘Haunted Tors’ since it dropped a couple of weeks back, so it felt only right to share this mix now. Michael Bridgewater as Waskerley Way has been doing his city of Newcastle proud, unleashing a slew of releases that have all equally enthralled our minds. New Yorker A S A H I has remixed Memoryhouse’s ‘Lately’ to stunning effect, bringing to the forefront the gorgeous ethereal piano work from the original and using high pitched vocals that fit so well with the aesthetic of the remix, all building to a dreamlike crescendo. We have been listening to debut album from Nashville based duo NUDITY, titled Heavy Petting, for the past couple of days now and there is something about it that just stays with you. Maybe it’s the deafness in your ears, but also the heavy electronic, glo-fi garage rock that offers a sense of nostalgia without sounding tired. Stream our pick from the record, ‘Bad Teeth’, above and head to NUDITY’s Bandcamp to grab the digital and physical release via Amdiscs.
Carl Miller has just dropped this self-directed video for his track ‘Medusa’. ‘Medusa’ will feature on The Low Life Mixtape, which is due out sometime in the immediate future.
Fleeta is Spencer Diehl from Philadelphia and he has just released his debut LP Zoo, a sort of glitchy, electronic, post-dubstep record that is as intricate as it is interesting. Stream ‘Late Evening’ and ‘Please Don’t Leave’ above, both taken from Zoo, with both emphasising the breath of sounds and styles being shown off by Spencer on the LP. This is all somewhat unsurprising mind, as Tours, who we featured back in December last year, is the executive producer of the album. Grab the entire Zoo LP here.
A gorgeous electronic pop gem from Stockholm’s Ditt Inre, with ‘Månljus (saknad)’, which means something in Swedish, probably. The track is taken from Ditt Inre’s En Värld I Brand EP, out on May 29th via Cascine. Ditt Inre certainly epitomises the “Balearic disco” scene of Scandinavian electro, yet the textured, organic and visceral surroundings you find yourself immersed in elevates Ditt Inre’s sound head and shoulders above a simple genre grouping. We have been listening to the incredible West In Dust 2012 compilation non stop since it’s release a couple of weeks back, so this post is a long overdue from our perspective. Stream one of the tracks taken from the compilation above, a collaboration from shortcicles and Elephant & Castle, titled ‘All I Can Say’. We have been keeping an eye on Kallie Lampel for a couple of months now, ever since that Boards Of Canada remix surfaced last February. Kallie, or Tortilla Pass, from Piermont New York, has just dropped this instrumental track titled ‘Forever Fire’ and claims it is his first go at mastering his own beats.
